Three runners travel to Newbury

 In Beckhampton News

Today we send 3 runners to Newbury for the Lockinge Meeting.

King’s Gambit runs in the ‘Sky Sports Racing Aston Park Stakes’ for owners Wathnan Racing. Last summer he gained some very strong Group form behind him especially when finishing half a length behind Los Angeles in the Group 2 ‘Great Voltigeur Stakes’. In February he travelled to Qatar for the H H Amir Trophy and finished 4 lengths behind Rebel’s Romance, since his trip he has had a break and been gelded. He comes into the race today looking well and back to 1 mile 4 furlongs, the race has a field of 7 runners and he has been drawn 6, blinkers have been applied to help him concentrate on the task in hand and Ryan Moore takes the ride.

Wave Rider runs in the ‘Trade Nation London Gold Cup Handicap’ for owners Dean, de Zoete, Inglett and Partner. He has shown improvement on each of his starts especially when finishing 2nd on his most recent start when making his 3-year-old debut. The race today has a field of 10 runners and it’s a competitive field. Wave Rider has been drawn 1 and has a hood applied to help keep him relaxed. We would like to think he would have improved again from his last start and fingers crossed see him run a nice race. Trevor Whelan takes the ride.

Completely Random is our last runner of the day and runs in the ‘Hong Kong Jockey Club Handicap’ for owners and breeders Paul Inglett & Beckhampton. He has had 2 starts so far this year for his 4-year-old campaign and has won both of them nicely. Today he competes in a field of 10 runners and he has been drawn 9. Trevor Whelan takes the ride.
