Today we send out the first of our 2024 Turf runners to Newmarket.

Grand Karat is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘JRA Handicap’ for owner Mohammed Jaber. Grand Karat is a three year old colt by Gleneagles who has had three career starts so far, with all of them being as a two year old. He ended his two year old season with a really strong run at Kempton towards the end of September, finishing 2nd (beaten half a length) behind Orne who went on to win the Group 3 ‘Horris Hill’ Stakes at Newmarket. Today Grand Karat makes his three year old debut as well as Handicap debut in a field of 13 runners. He has been stepped up to 1 mile from 7 furlongs with a draw of 12. Tom Marquand takes the ride.

Kikkuli is our second runner today and is a lovely bred colt by Kingman and out of Kind. He is a half brother to Frankel, Noble Mission and Bullet Train as well as three other winners. Kikkuli made his racecourse debut as a two year old at Kempton in November 2023and put in a very encouraging performance to finish 2nd behind Zoum Zoum of Ralph Beckett’s, he has since gone on to win the Listed ‘ Prix Herod’ in France. Today Kikkuli makes his three year old debut back over 7 furlongs in a field of 12 runners. He has been drawn 3 with Ryan Moore taking the ride.
