Opening Bat gets a win under his belt

 In Beckhampton News

Yesterday we sent Opening Bat to Kempton to run in the ‘Unibet 40,000+ Live Streamed Events Handicap’ for owners Mrs R J McCreery & Mr Richard Craddock. He showed big improvement on his 3-year-old debut having shown 3 moderate runs at 2, after his 3rd career start at 2 he was gelded and given a winter break which seems to have done him the world of good giving him time to grow and mature physically and mentally. Yesterday he battled really well to get the win on the line under Billy Loughnane.

Today we send out 2 runners to Haydock.

First Time is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘Betfred “Follow Us On X” EBF Novice Stakes’ for owner Mohammed Jaber. The 2-year-old colt by Mohaather was purchased at the Tattersalls Book 2 sale for 140,000 gns and is a half-brother to dual winner Crimson Road. Today he makes his racecourse debut in a field of 8 runners and he has been drawn 6. Apart from 1 other runner the rest of the field are all making their debuts as well. Trevor Whelan takes the ride.

Blue Day is our second runner and runs in the ‘Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Handicap’ for owner Mohammed Jaber. When dropped back to 5 furlongs 3 weeks ago he put in a very strong performance to win the race by just over a length. Today he is back and continuing over 5 furlongs in a field of 7 runners with a draw of 1. Hector Crouch takes the ride.
