King’s Gambit heads for the Amir Trophy in Qatar

Last Friday King’s Gambit flew out to Qatar in preparation to run in the H H Amir Trophy (Group 3) for new owners Wathnan Racing. He has had 8 career starts so far in which he has won 2 of them and placed 4 times. This includes placing in two Group 2 races and a Group 3. The race in D0ha has a field of 8 runners with Breeders Cup Turf winner Rebel’s Romance being in the mix. Gambit has settled well into his routine in Qatar and we can only hope to see another of his strong performances. This will be his second start over 1 mile 4 furlongs after his first being in the Voltigeur and finishing 3rd behind Irish Derby winner Los Angeles with only half a length between them. Mickael Barzalona will take the ride on King’s Gambit and they have a good draw of 5.
