Last week Kikkuli flew out to America in preparation for the ‘Coolmore Turf Mile Stakes’ (Grade 1) held at Keeneland. The race is today and at 10:48 pm (BST). This season he has put in some very strong performances. This includes finishing 2nd in the Group 3 ‘Jersey Stakes’ with a short head between himself and the winner Haatem. On his most recent start he finished 4th in the Group 2 ‘Hungerford Stakes’ at Newbury and despite finishing 4th there was only half a length between him and the winner. Today he steps back up to a mile and the going is firm. The race has a field of 9 runners and he has been drawn 2, all of the runners are American apart from Kikkuli and Mountain Bear who is trained by A P O’Brien. We have Frankie Dettori booked to ride and fingers crossed we will see another strong run from Kikkuli.
