Sea The Moon is by Sea The Stars who was officially rated the best horse in the world in 2009 and is now regarded as one of the greatest racehorses of all time. Sea The Moon won the German Derby by a sensational 11 lengths and is now Champion Sire in Germany 2023. He has sired 59 individual stakes performers (18 Group winners) including: German Derby winner Fantastic Moon, German Oaks winner Muskoka and Group 1 winners Alpine Star and Durston.

Via Lazio was unraced but she is a half sister to Admire Mars. He was champion 2 year old colt in Japan, undefeated in 4 starts at 2 years, a triple Group 1 winning miler and the only 3 year old winner of the Hong Kong Mile (Group 1). His first crop are now yearlings in 2023/2024 , the first four Japanese foals offered by the Northern Farm at the 2022 JRHA Select Sale and averaged at $810,000 with a top price of $1.5 million paid for the colt out of Treasuring. His first yearlings will sell in Australia in 2024. Aside from Admire Mars it is a deep black type family that continues to produce excellence. Her half sister Strutting sold for 425,000 guineas the year before and is now a winner at 2 and looks the type to get black type at 3.

This filly was remarkable value and for whatever reason the Sea The Moon’s were not that popular this year and we thought we had to have her on pedigree alone. Since breaking her in we have found her to be a sweet character and a lovely mover as seen on the video attached.
