Greek Order breaks his maiden title
Yesterday we sent Greek Order to Sandown to run in the ‘Get Your Racehorse Lotto Tickets Now Handicap’ for owners Juddmonte. Prior to yesterday he had had three career starts over 7 furlongs and had put in a strong performance each time to get placed. He went into the race yesterday with a mark of 80 and was stepped up to a mile for the first time in a field of 14 runners. Despite travelling a little keen in the early stages of the race he was in touch with the leaders until 3 furlongs out and was then asked the question by jockey Ryan Moore. He was pushed along at the 2 furlong marker and took up the lead inside the final furlong winning the race by half a furlong. It was great to see him get his head in front and a long awaited winner on the board.
Today we send out two runnners, Man Of Eden to Goodwood and Zouzanna to Haydock.
Man Of Eden is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘Hanover Communications Handicap’ for owner D J Deer. He was a winner on yard debut over a mile at Newcastle at the end of January, he was then stepped up to 1 mile 2 furlongs at Newmarket in which he didnt seem to appreciate the extra 2 furlongs. He was then sent back to a mile at Goodwood on his most recent start and put in a very strong performance to finish 2nd. The race today has a field of 11 runners and he has been drawn 4. James Doyle takes the ride.
Zouzanna heads to Haydock to run in the ‘Holdcroft Motor Group Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes’ for owners Brooke – Rankin, Frost, Hues, Inglett. She is a three year old filly by Zoustar who has so far had two career starts over a mile and finished 2nd on both occassions. Today she makes her three year old debut back over a mile in a field of 14 runners. She has been drawn 8 with Richard Kingscote taking the ride.
