First runner at Royal Ascot as sole trainer

 In Beckhampton News

Today Harry sends out his first runner to Royal Ascot as a sole trainer. He has trained two winners at the Royal meeting when him and his father Roger held a joint license together. They trained Jumbly to win the Group 3 ‘Valiant Stakes’ and Thesis the ‘Britannia Stakes’. Prior to the partnership license Roger trained 11 Royal Ascot winners, the Prince of Wales, Coventry, Cork and Orrery, Tercentenary, two Britannia’s, Wokingham, Bessborough, two King George V, and a Balmoral.

Today Roarin’ Success heads to Royal Ascot to run in the ‘Kensington Palace Stakes’ for owner and breeder Mr Paul Inglett. Roarin’ is a 4-year-old filly by Roaring Lion. She has had 9 career starts so far which has included 2 wins and 3 placings. She won at Ascot over a mile in July last year and then made her 4-year-old debut there and finished 2nd (beaten half a length). On her most recent start she ran at Doncaster over a mile and also placed 2nd beaten half a length. Today she heads back to Ascot which we know she likes the track and continues over a mile. We hope to see another strong performance from her and of course it would be fantastic to see her back in the winner’s enclosure, especially at the Royal meeting.  The race has a strong field of 25 runners and she has been drawn 19. Trevor Whelan takes the ride.
