Finest Leader makes it two wins in a row and two runners head out today

 In Beckhampton News

Yesterday we sent Finest Leader to Newbury to run in the ‘TPT Fire Handicap’ for owners P Inglett, A Bengough & Lady Tidbury. He broke his maiden title on his previous start at Wetherby and went into yesterday’s race looking to follow it up with another win. He raced in behind the leader until pressing the leader around 3 furlongs from home, he took the lead around a furlong from home and ran on well to win the race by just over a length under Oisin Murphy.

Today we send out two runners split between Sandown and Haydock.

Sleeping Lion is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘Coral Marathon’ Listed race (registered as the Esher Stakes) for owners Merry Fox Stud Limited. He is a winner of 5 races so far as well as being Listed and Group 3 placed. He finished 3rd on his most recent start at Sandown in the Group 3 ‘Henry II Stakes’ with Ryan Moore on board finishing a neck behind Nate The Great who has since finished 5th at Royal Ascot in the Group 1 ‘ Gold Cup’. The race today has a field of 6 runners and Sleeping Lion has been drawn 6. Ryan Moore is back on board and hopefully today we will see him run another strong race.

Stage Show heads to Haydock to run in the ‘Jill Wilcox – Jones Memorial Handicap’ for owners Brook Farm Bloodstock. He had two career starts as a two year old and has since had three starts as a three year old. He was stepped up to 1 mile 2 furlongs for the first time on his most recent start and today makes a step up again to 1 mile 3 and 1/2 furlongs. The race has a field of 6 runners and he has been drawn 3. Richard Kingscote takes the ride.
