American Bay gets his head in front
Yesterday we sent American Bay to Redcar to run in the ‘Watch Racing TV Free For 31 Days Novice Stakes’ for owners Ballylinch, Emmet, Inglett & Partners. Having had 8 career starts prior to yesterday he was still a maiden, he had been very unlucky on a few occasions but it was great to see him finally get his head in front for his owners.
Today we send out three runners between Sandown and Yarmouth.
Cosmic Year is our first runner of the day and makes his racecourse debut in the ‘Sir Michael Stoute – Farewell and Thank You Novice Stakes’ for owners Juddmonte. He is a full brother to Group 3 winner Tempus and a half-brother to Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Time Test. Today Cosmic Year makes his debut in a field of 7 runners with a draw of 6. Oisin Murphy takes the ride and we look forward to learning more about him today.
Balticum is our second runner of the day and is heading to Yarmouth to make his racecourse debut in the ‘EBF Future Stayers Maiden Stakes (Sire and Dam Restricted Race)’ for owners White Birch Farm, Fittocks, Shafrazian. He is a half-brother to Baltic who is also in training here and is now looking to make it 6 wins in a row. Today Balticum makes his debut in a field of 10 runners. He has been drawn 8 with Kieran Shoemark taking the ride. We also look forward to learning more about him today as well.
Niloufar is our final runner of the day and heads to Sandown to run in the ‘Hwfa Williams Handicap’ for owners Dr Jamal Ahmadzadeh & Mrs D Swinburn. So far she has won 4 races this season and although she was disappointing on her most recent start she had got herself quite upset in the preliminaries and wasn’t herself after that. Today she goes into the race well and in good form and hopefully we will see another of her strong runs and put her last outing behind her. The race has a field of 8 runners and she has been drawn 5. Millie Wonnacott takes the ride as well as claiming 5lbs off. A hood has also been applied to help keep her settled.
