Alice Knyvet breaks her maiden and Baltic heads to Chelmsford
Yesterday we sent Alice Knyvet to Leicester to run in the ‘Leicester Racecourse Ideal Conference Venue Handicap’ for owners Juddmonte. She had five career starts behind her prior to yesterday and put in a very strong performance on her previous run to finish 2nd beaten a neck. She went into yesterday’s race looking to go one better and sure enough she did. She settled nicely in midfield and started to make headway around 2 furlongs from home moving over to the inside winning the race by half a length under jockey Kevin Stott.
Today we send Baltic to Chelmsford to run in the ‘Book Your Christmas Party Here Maiden Stakes’ for owners David Chaplin & Fittocks Stud. He is a three year old colt by Frankel who has had 2 career starts so far over 1 mile 2 furlongs. He has shown improvement between his first and second start and hopefully today will show more, today will be his first appearance on the all weather surface. He continues over 1 mile 2 furlongs in a field of 11 runners with a draw of 13. Millie Wonnacott takes the ride as well as claiming 5lbs off his back.
