Designed to give owners a chance to enjoy the thrill of racehorse ownership at a fraction of the cost of sole ownership, including a focus firmly on providing partners with a fun experience. This includes yard visits,mornings on the Beckhampton gallops and success on the track.
Beckhampton Racing consists of 20 shares in the stunning two year old Gelding by Havana Gold out of Indignant whom Harry purchased at Tattersalls for 58,000 gns.
Sire: Havana Gold was a high class and tough 2-year-old winning the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat. He became the leading UK based sire of 2yos in 2021. He is the sire of the sensational stallion HAVANA GREY (Champion 1st season sire 2022) and sire of numerous Stakes winners this year. Dam: Indignant was a tough sprinting filly who won the 6F Cathedral Listed Stakes at Salisbury over six furlongs and was placed three times in Group 3 races over seven furlongs, she has bred 3 winners from 4 runners.
Partners may own more than one share but no subdivision of shares is allowable.
The partnership will run until the end of October 2024, at which time the horse will be sold. There is a possibility that the horse could be retained for a second year, the decision will be made by Harry although any input from partners will be welcomed. A supplementary fee will be calculated to cover the second year.
A partnership bank account will be opened, into which all monies will be paid. Accounts will be audited by Beckhampton Racing Office. Prospective partners can secure a 1/20th share by depositing a one off sum of £5,000 into the partnership bank account. Beckhampton Stables Ltd will buy a 1/20th share.
All racing and training expenses will be drawn from the partnership account, as well as the purchase price, agents 5% buying commission and insurance.
All returns from prize-money, any other income and sales proceeds (there will be a 5% commission charged on the sale of the horse) will be deposited into the partnership account.
The end balance will be distributed among all partners.
Beckhampton Stables will charge the partnership account its standard all-inclusive daily rate for training, farrier, vets and racing expenses. The partnership will be underwritten by Beckhampton Stables Ltd. i.e. no further payments will be required beyond those detailed above and Beckhampton Stables Ltd will continue to train the horse until the end of the partnership in October 2024.
Monthly progress reports will be provided on the horse, e-mail reports before and after each race and regular media updates from the gallops. In addition to this all partners will be informed of entries and declarations to run by e-mail and the Racing Manager.
A meeting of partners will be held in the first quarter of the partnership. The meeting will take place at Beckhampton Stables. It is an opportunity for partners to meet Harry and he will offer an overall guideline for the season ahead.
The horses will race in the CERISE, WHITE stars, CERISE sleeves, CERISE cap, WHITE star.
One name per animal will be put forward by each partner. A vote will take place and the most popular name will be selected for the animal, if available.
The partnership shall be registered for VAT as with a business partnership. It will pay VAT on supplies and claim back VAT on qualifying expenses (including training fees etc.). VAT is not payable on owners’ subscriptions into the partnership account.
Partners are all welcome to telephone Harry or Roger at any time and are all welcome to visit the horse by prior arrangement.
If an offer is received for the horse during the term of the partnership, partners will be informed but Harry will make a final decision in the best interest of the partnership, on whether to sell or not.
The horse will be insured against death. This value may be amended from time to time at the discretion of Harry.
