National Racehorse Week Open Day
Yesterday we opened up our gates to 90 guests as part of National Racehorse Week. They enjoyed a trip out onto the gallops to watch 4th lot cantering followed by a parade of horses in the yard. We then split people up into groups of around 15 to take on a tour around the yard. This was so they could see how the yard runs on a day to day basis and see all behind the scenes in the yard. We had our yard physio charlotte and farriers from Chapel Forge doing demonstrations for people to watch and learn. We also decided to turn the event into a fundraising one in which we raised money for our local charity Newbury Riding For The Disabled. The day was very much enjoyed by all from ages ranging from 2 up to 65+ . The feedback has been great from our visitors and more of them are keen to follow racing now they have attended an open day.
