Ten pounds makes it 3 wins from 4 runs

On Thursday Ten Pounds made the journey up to Newcastle for the Racing League meeting having already had 2 wins behind him and he was looking to make it a treble. This time round he had some tough opposition to get past as he had Jumby who is rated 100 and had finished 3rd in the Group 2 ‘Hungerford Stakes’ 5 days prior. He also had Cloud Cover to contend with who is rated 98 and was beaten a neck in July in the Listed ‘Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes’. In the race Ten Pounds jumped well from the stalls and got a nice position in behind the first 2 horses and settled well, he made headway from around the 2 furlong pole and took the lead just over a furlong from home. He kept on well and won the race nicely by just over 2 lengths.
