Valsad wins for Racing League
Yesterday we sent Valsad to Southwell to run in the ‘William Hill Epic Value Racing League Race 42 Handicap (Racing League)(Class 2) for owner Stuart Stuckey. He went into the race having put in a very strong performance the run before, he stayed on well to take the lead inside the final furlong winning the race by 3/4 of a length under Saffie Osborne.
Today we send out two runners to Epsom and Chelmsford.
Magical Merlin is our first runner of the day and runs in the ‘Bohle Centenary Handicap’ for owners Paul Inglett and Beckhampton Racing. He is a three year old gelding by Kodiac who has had 10 career starts so far, winning 2 of his starts. Both of his wins have been over 6 furlongs and today steps up to 7 furlongs, this is his second attempt at 7 furlongs but unfortunately pulled too hard on his 1st attempt but seems to have learnt to settle better now. The race today has a field of 9 runners and he has been drawn 5. A change in headgear has been made and today he has cheekpieces applied. David Probert takes the ride and hopefully we will see a good performance from him.
Batal Dubai is our second runner today and heads to Chelmsford to run in the ‘Hills Prospect Le Grand Cru Handicap’ for owners Middleham Park Racing LXIV and Partner. He is a three year old colt by Profitable and has had 8 career starts so far. He has won 3 of his starts and placed once. All of his wins have been over 6 furlongs, he had his first attempt over 5 furlongs on his most recent start which may have been a little sharp for him. Today he is back to 6 furlongs in a field of 8 runners. He has been drawn 7 with Daniel Muscutt taking the ride.
